A deadly crash involving a motorcycle Saturday night closed the eastbound lanes of the U.S. 60 at Power Road in Mesa.

The U.S. 60 eastbound reopened Sunday morning following a deadly four-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Saturday night in the East Valley.

The incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday near Sossaman Road in Mesa when a man driving a motorcycle at high speeds rear-ended a passenger car, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The collision threw the motorcyclist off of the bike, and he struck two other vehicles.

The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were immediately available.
